The Dramm team has been working longer hours and weekends to keep up with the increased demand in gardening and wholesale production.
We want to thank our employees for their dedication and our customers for their patience and support as we increase capacity to meet the demand.
The gardening industry saw as much as a 35% increase this past Spring due to COVID restrictions. As people turned to gardening, they needed supplies. Dramm is one of the few domestic suppliers of watering tools that does not rely on supply from China. As a result, we saw orders increase greatly.
The Commercial segment of our business serves the greenhouses growing the plant material. These customers saw the same increases in their orders and needed additional supplies as well. The Commercial group also supplies spray equipment and foggers that can be used to apply disinfectants. As the world focused on increased sanitation, the demand for these products increased.
Finally, our Fertilizer team sales increased due to an increase in gardening and as a result of organic industrial hemp expansion.
In each of our business segments, the increased demand was coupled with greater difficulties in our supply chain. Between supplier issues related to quarantining, shut-down or less access to raw materials from areas hard-hit by Coronavirus, and our own challenges with the virus, we have been working hard to keep up.
