Outdoor Hydraulic Spray Equipment – Larger Options

Dramm makes over 50 different pieces of equipment to apply plant protection products and disinfectants to help you grow better. Our Hydra Sprayer line is the workhorse of many growing facilities. With many options to help the machine fit each grower’s needs, the Hydra is meant to be flexible and easy to use.

Many of our customers start by using the Hydra in indoor facilities, where the 50 gallon unit’s compact size and efficient design is appreciated. Dramm has designed the Hydra to be easy to work with when suited up applying pesticides. For instance:

A convex hose reel prevents bird-nesting of the hose and a variable-tension drag can eliminate reel free-wheeling of and piles of hose on the ground. Our pump capacity allows for enough output for us to use a specialized agitation bar that sweeps solids off the bottom of the tank efficiently that helps keep solutions well mixed. Wheel and caster placement prevent tipping, while making a full sprayer, with up to 400 pounds of water in the tank, surprisingly easy to maneuver. Even the filter is placed so that it is easy to access and includes a shut-off valve so it can be cleaned mid-application. All of our Hydra sprayers can be upgraded with corrosion resistant components to allow for the use of oxidizing chemicals.

As growers begin to include outdoor growing in their operations, they will need similar tools to help with their pest management. Dramm produces the Hydra line of sprayers in our standard 50 gallon version, but also in a 50 and 100 gallon SprayTrax version that has floating, articulating axles for rugged terrain and better maneuverability. Finally, we produce the Hydra 200, a towable, 200 gallon sprayer with extras for the field.

Field grown crops require several considerations. Typically far from power, gasoline engines are important. Dramm uses Honda engines for easy-to-start spraying. Sometimes, more than one person might be required to get the job done in a timely manner. Our 100 and 200 gallon units can accommodate two reels, allowing two people to spray with the same machine. The larger units can also utilize our RemoteWind Reel that automatically winds as you spray, eliminating snags and labor. Finally, our 200 gallon unit has the option of a 20 gallon nurse tank. This smaller tank can hold a small mixture of a chemical solution that you might wish to use to spot treat smaller areas during your applications in the field. Or, it might have a concentrated solution that you can transfer to the main, 200 gallon tank to extend your spraying capacity by only having to add water. Valves allow for either tank to become the spray source, the recirculation source or both, giving the grower flexibility in how this tank is used.
